RUBY

Ruby is an older, unbroke mare. She has a very gentle personality and is great with other horses.

She would make  a wonderful companion horse or nurse mare.

Unfortunately Ruby's owner no longer wanted her as after 20 years of being a brood mare she may now have trouble conceiving.

She is now looking for a forever loving home.

First picture is when she arrived at the farm with a bulge that was created by an injury that healed over by itself. The second picture is after a farrier did  a trim.

BUFFY

Buffy at the 2022 spring auction.

She is extremely under weigh so you can see her ribs, hip bone, and backbone.

You can see by her face and ears back that she is unhappy being at the auction.

Buffy is a registered Thoroughbred, only 7 years old, and at one time was a successful racehorse, how could it be possible for a horse like this to possibly end up at a slaughter house if not rescued.

Buffy is now with us at Heel and Hoof, and the Vet told us had we not taken her home she would not have lived beyond a couple of weeks.

Now after only 3 months of love, care and proper feed she is a very relaxed, healthy horse as you can tell by her ears forward and ready to lick!!

Buffy, in the middle, meeting her new friends at the farm.

As of September 2022 Buffy is in a new home and loves learning the barrels.

Buffy and her new owner are a perfect fit.

Here she shows her versatility, learning all about skijoring!!

 SPIRIT

A pen full of weanlings and yearlings at the auction. You can see Spirit - the black filly with the white stripe.

Here she is in the Auction bidding pen.

Ears perked up and so happy to be with her new friends.
